RaceDay Preview: Dobmeier set for Beaver Dam doubleheader

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 5, 2020) – Mark Dobmeier has hit the road and is headed to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin for this weekend’s World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader. 

Beaver Dam is a speedway that Dobmeier has never raced at before. 

“I’m actually really excited to race there. It’s been a track I’ve been trying to get to for years,” said Dobmeier. “I’ve been watching some video on the place and it’s definitely a racy track. It all depends on how the track is prepped that night, but it seems like a wide racing surface. It looks like an awesome facility so it should be a good time.” 

Dobmeier was last in action at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 with the World of Outlaws. While the Buffalo Wild Wings / Lunstra Motorsports team didn’t achieve the results they were looking for, they still learned a lot which they can apply to the car for the rest of the season.

“I-55 was a little bit of a rough go for us. There were a lot of good cars down there and we weren’t where we needed to be right away," Dobmeier said. "We worked on the car all weekend and felt like the last race we ran, the C-Main on Saturday night, we felt like we got things rocking and rolling a little better. We went from ninth to third, one spot out of the transfer, but the important thing was we got the car working the way we liked it and things are starting to come around. We’re excited to take what we learned from there, toss it in for Beaver Dam, and go out and have some fun.” 

Looking ahead, Dobmeier will travel to Knoxville Raceway June 12-13 to compete with the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars. Both this weekend’s races from Beaver Dam and next weekend’s races from Knoxville can be seen on DIRTVision.com.
