DOBMEIER RETURNS TO VICTORY LANE AT RIVER CITIES

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 10, 2023) - Mark Dobmeier not only returned home to run at Grand Forks' River Cities Speedway, he also returned to victory lane in the No. 13 Dammer Trucking / K-Star Ag Services Sprint Car after scoring his third win of the 2023 season.

Entering Mid-Season championship night at the speedway as the point leader, Dobmeier started on the pole of his heat race, which he won and earned the pole position for the third Wayne Anderson Cup qualifier of the season.

Leading the opening ten circuits unchallenged, Dobmeier continued with a healthy lead until a trio of restarts between lap 14 and with 14 laps to go.

It was then that Dobmeier faced his toughest challenge of the race as Jade Hastings followed close in second with ten to go.

Hastings took a peak at the exit of four coming to six to go, then pulled even to Dobmeier's outside off of the next trip out of turn two. The close action saw Hastings slide over the cushion on the backstretch, allowing Dobmeier to continue on with the lead.

Dobmeier held off Hastings in the closing laps to score his second win of the season in Grand Forks, and third overall.

"It was a very technical track," Dobmeier said in victory lane. "You had to be on the ball. First the cushion was good, then the bottom was good. When you're leading, it's tough because you get stuck in one lane and you gotta pick and choose and when you get to lapped cars, you can kind of work the track a little bit."

On Sunday, Dobmeier and crew headed back to Huset's Speedway in Brandon, SD for another week of regular season action. Dobmeier put down the ninth fastest lap in qualifying then went on to win his heat race.

Rolling off on the outside of row four in the 25 lap feature, Dobmeier was running ninth when he was collected in an incident with Riley Goodno. The crew made repairs in time to restart at the rear of the field, but made six passes in the last nine laps to score a top ten in the closing laps.

This week, Dobmeier returns to River Cities for the King of the Wings event which sees the NOSA Sprints battle against the Wisconsin based Interstate Racing Association. Dobmeier finished third on the opening night of the event last year, but suffered mechanical woes on night two.

Dobmeier, the three time series champion, heads into the weekend as the NOSA point leader by 13 points over Jade Hastings.
