By Spieker Promotions GRAND FORKS, N.D. (August 2, 2019) – Following a solid weekend with the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints where Mark Dobmeier picked up their second Dacotah Speedway win, Team 13 Racing gears up for River Cities Speedway tonight and the Capitani Classic at Knoxville Raceway on Sunday. Dobmeier dominated the majority of the 21-car main event during Friday’s program at Dacotah Speedway, but a late-race caution put the field right on his back bumper. On the restart, Wade Nygaard successfully slid Dobmeier to take the lead, but Dobmeier came storming back down the back straightaway. Dobmeier regained the lead in turns three and four.
The all-time NOSA wins leader set sail in the final laps to score his second career Dacotah Speedway victory. “Wade got a way better start on that last restart and beat me into the corner, but I was able to swing around turns one and two, get a big head of steam, and slide him in turns three and four to get him back,” said Dobmeier. “We had a great working car. The crew has been working hard trying to get things a little better for some big races coming up.” The following night at the three-eighths mile oval, Dobmeier took the lead around the halfway point, but again, another late-race yellow cost him the lead. At the checkers, Dobmeier was forced to settle for third. The Buffalo Wild Wings No. 13 team returns to action tonight at the Bullring in Grand Forks. Two of Dobmeier’s four wins on the year have come at the three-tenths mile oval. His most recent visit to the speedway came on July 12th where he finished second. After Friday’s races, the team will head down to Knoxville, Iowa for Sunday’s Capitani Classic before the Knoxville Nationals. Mark’s qualifying night for the 59th Knoxville Nationals will be on Wednesday, Aug. 7th.
