By Spieker Promotions SOMERTON, ARIZONA (November 24, 2021) – Mark Dobmeier made his 2021 season debut behind the wheel of a 360 Sprint Car and also made his first career start at Cocopah Speedway last weekend with the ASCS Southwest Region. A strong field of 30-plus teams were checked in for action for the doubleheader weekend. After timing in 15th quick on night one of action on Friday night, Dobmeier started on the pole and raced to a heat race win. From there, he started on the outside of row two for the 25-lap, $2,000-to-win main event and came home with a seventh place finish. On Saturday night, Dobmeier finished second in his heat and finished 11th in the main event. This weekend, Dobmeier will head to Arizona Speedway for the Copper Classic, featuring the ASCS Southwest Region. This will be Dobmeier’s third appearance at the Copper Classic. The two-night event boasts a $2,500-to-win payout for the preliminary night on Friday, Nov. 26th and $7,500-to-win on Saturday, Nov. 27th. Dobmeier last competed at Arizona Speedway during the 2019 edition of the Copper Classic, where his weekend was highlighted with a 10th place run during the prelim night. Of his five career starts at Arizona Speedway, Dobmeier’s best finish at the three-eighths mile oval was a fourth-place run during the 2018 Copper Classic.
