Grand Forks, N.D. (July 24, 2024) - Mark Dobmeier went undefeated last weekend winning all three nights of the Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings which started Thursday night at Norman County Raceway followed by two nights of action at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. Dobmeier's sixth, seventh, and eighth wins of the 2024 season puts him just eight wins away from the 200-win mark with the 31-year-old Northern Outlaw Sprint Association as he helped the series sweep the Wisconsin and Illinois based Bumper-to-Bumper Interstate Racing Association.

Dobmeier was fifth in time trials Thursday night at Norman County then went on to win his heat and finish third in the dash to start fifth in the first main-event of the weekend. Running fourth following the second caution of the race on lap three, Dobmeier slid past Jake Blackhurst in turn four to take the final podium spot on lap four.

The following lap saw race leader Scott Thiel spin to a stop in turn four giving the lead to Jake Newman with Dobmeier restarting second. The leaders entered lapped just before the midway point allowing Dobmeier to remain a car length or two from the top spot.

Neuman slipped up in turn four with ten laps left allowing Dobmeier to take the lead. Following the final caution with eight to go it was clear sailing for Dobmeier who went on to win by over two-and-a-half seconds over Jake Blackhurst.

Dobmeier began Friday night quickest in qualifying and third in both his heat and the dash to start sixth in the 30-lap main event. Dobmeier ran fourth following three cautions in three laps to start the race but moved around the outside of Gage Pulkrabek to take third on the restart.

Dobmeier then slid past Nick Omdahl in turn three three laps later to take the runner-up spot. Dobmeier stalked race-long leaders Austin Hartmann on the next restart, taking the lead off the bottom of turn two with 20 to go. Hartmann fought back to start the next lap but gave way to Dobmeier for good with 19 to go.

From there it was all Dobmeier again as the remainder of the race went caution free. Dobmeier won by nearly Dobmeier who went on to win by over two-and-a-half seconds again, this time over Scott Thiel.

Dobmeier set up the final night of his title defense in a fashion that left little doubt how the outcome was gonna look. Dobmeier was sixth quick then won his heat and the dash to start on the pole of the 35-lap finale.

Dobmeier took the lead from Laela Eisenschenk at the drop of the green and led each lap of the longest green-flag run of the weekend to start a race. Dobmeier led by a straight away before the first caution off the race on lap 14.

Five more laps went in the books before a fire for Jake Neuman. After some scary moments he exited his car ok but this set up an open red for fuel. After the open red, 15-year-old IRA rookie Logan Julien kept pace with Dobmeier in a bid for the up set but crashed in turn three with 13 to go. Brendan Mullen snuck his nose to Dobmeier's inside on the restart but Dobmeier remained the leader. Dobmeier went on to win by 2.2 second over Mullen to sweep the weekend.

“I can't be prouder of where this team is sitting at right now,” Dobmeier said after completing the sweep. “We've been through a lot of ups and downs. We've always had speed but we've been kind of on a roll lately and I haven't been this comfortable for probably four years in a Sprint Car. We've really got a good balance on the car and things are working. I’ve got a badass crew that's working all the time and we put a lot of effort, a lot of nights and weekends, a lot of everything on this one. It feels really good to be sitting in the spot where we have a comfortable car and things are just rolling again like they used to.”

Dobmeier and crew will head to Jackson Motorplex, Knoxville Raceway, and Huset’s Speedway for the three-track, three-race Border Battle which runs Friday through Sunday.
