Dobmeier Set for Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings the Weekend

Grand Forks, N.D. (July 16, 2024) - It was a series of heartbreaks again last week for Mark Dobmeier and the Buffalo Wild Wings / Lunstra Motorsports No. 13 seeing a possible win at River Cities and podium and hard charger award evaporate due to incidents that we of no fault of his own. Dobmeier and the crew are ready for this week's 3rd Annual Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings which starts Thursday at Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN and concludes Friday and Saturday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.

Last week at River Cities, Dobmeier was leading the feature early, but a lapped car spun in front of him in turn four and Dobmeier had no choice to spin and avoid him. Dobmeier returned from the work area and restarted at the rear of the field for the lap 13 restart.

Four laps later Dobmeier was back in the top five and went on to finish third in a nice rebound from the midrace collision.

Sunday at Huset's Dobmeier started 12th in the 25-lap main event and kept his nose clean as a number of red flags and pileups slowed the pace of the race. On a green-white-checkered restart attempt, leader Scott Bogucki ran out of fuel and Dobmeier couldn't avoid contact. Flat tires were changed and Dobmeier restarted in the back but with two laps left he could only get back to 13th.

This weekend the 3rd Annual King of the Wings presented by Buffalo Wild Wings sees Dobmeier and the NOSA Sprints take on the IRA Sprints of Wisconsin and adjacent Illinois.

During last season's King of the Wings, Dobmeier won the first two nights and finished fourth on the final night to win the overall title. Dobmeier, via five series wins this season, sits just 10 points back of Jade Hastings as he tries for a fourth NOSA championship.
