DOBMEIER SET FOR BUFFALO WILD WINGS BLAZIN' CHALLENGE

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (August 17, 2023) - Mark Dobmeier returns home this Friday night in the Buffalo Wild Wings / Lunstra Motorsports No. 13 for the ninth annual running of the Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin' Challenge at Grand Forks' River Cities Speedway.

Dobmeier heads into Friday's special event as the Blazin' Challenge point leader which will put him in the fourth starting spot in his heat race. Should he make the top four, Dobmeier will head to the King of the Hill race which saw him run 9.7 second laps on his way to running the table and beating all seven competitors in the one-on-one style race.

From there, Dobmeier held off Jade Hastings late in the main event, winning by .049 seconds. The win was Dobmeier's third of the previous eight runnings of the challenge, of which he has run in seven of them.

Dobmeier hasn't started better than 17th in his three wins of the event including a 19th place start in 2018 and a run from 23rd in 2017. Dobmeier has passed a total of 101 in his previous seven challenges, passing an average of just over 14 cars each race.

Dobmeier's return to River Cities follows runs at Knoxville Raceway in Iowa for the Knoxville Nationals and Tuesday night's High Limit Sprint Car series debut at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, SD.

Dobmeier bounced back from damage during his Wednesday night qualifier at Knoxville to transfer from the D Main to the rear of the C Main where he was credited with a 24th place finish. Dobmeier made three passes in the B Main at Huset's on Tuesday night but finished 13th in the B Main.

Dobmeier heads into Friday 13 points back of Jade Hastings for the top spot in the season long NOSA standings but leads the River Cities points by 19 over Hastings. Dobmeier heads into the weekend with ten feature wins, five of which have come in his last ten races.
