GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 6, 2023) - Mark Dobmeier brought the No. 13 Dahlstrom Motors / DEKALB Seed machine back into Northern Outlaws Sprint Association action last weekend with action at a pair of bullrings at South Dakota's Brown County Speedway, and Minnesota's Buffalo River Speedway, scoring a pair of podium finishes to keep the series' point lead. At the beginning of the night at Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen on Friday night, Dobmeier improved from fifth to third in his heat race. Dobmeier rolled off on the outside of the second row in the first 25 lapper of the two race set. Passing Jack Croaker on the outside of the exit of turn four on the opening lap, Dobmeier then slid Nick Omdahl to take over the runner-up spot. Running to the inside of leader Jade Hastings on a lap four restart, Dobmeier did the same on a lap five restart, but remained in second. Restarting on the inside of another double file restart on lap nine, Dobmeier remained within striking distance in lapped traffic with ten circuits remaining. Unable to strike in traffic, Dobmeier finished the race in the second spot. On Saturday night, Dobmeier returned to Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, MN as the most recent winner in series action at the tricky quarter-mile. Charging from fourth to win his heat race, Dobmeier started on the outside of the fourth row in the second 25 lap feature of the weekend. Dobmeier raced his way into the top five early on after battling with Red River Sprint Series regulars Andy Pake and Tye Wilke. On the only restart of the race on lap four, Dobmeier followed Blake Egeland and Brendan Mullen, as the trio ran in the second through fourth spots. Just before the midway point, Dobmeier led Mullen past Egeland to move into second. From there, Dobmeier had to fend off Mullen just as he had to for the heat win to keep the runner-up spot. Dobmeier slipped up in turn three with ten to go, with Mullen taking second. Dobmeier remained close in the waning laps, but came home with a third place finish. This week, NOSA returns home to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks as a tune-up to next weekend's Buffalo Wild Wings 'King of the Wings' vs. the Wisconsin-based Interstate Racing Association. Dobmeier and crew will also be back at Huset's Speedway for another night of action on Sunday evening. Dobmeier Racing thanks all of its sponsors for their continued support!
