By Spieker Promotions GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 6, 2019) – It only comes twice a year and it’s the one win he wants the most. The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Seriesinvades Mark Dobmeier’s backyard on Friday night. After finishing second in the World of Outlaws feature at River Cities Speedway last August, Dobmeier is more determined than ever to get that elusive win. “We’re hoping to get some momentum going early in the night on Friday,” said Dobmeier. “We’ve struggled on our qualifying efforts it seems like, but what we’ve learned so far this year and changed around I think will really help us. We just need a good night start to finish. If we can start somewhere in the top 10, I think we’ll definitely have a shot at it.”
Dobmeier enters this weekend undefeated at River Cities Speedway in Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car action in 2019. This is the second consecutive year that Dobmeier has won all of the NOSA events at River Cities coming into the first of two World of Outlaws events. Last Friday night, Dobmeier picked up one of those wins at the Bullring. The Grand Forks, N.D. driver set quick time earlier in the night in NOSA’s first time trial session since June of 2006. That put the all-time River Cities Speedway win leader in the eighth starting position for the main event. “It took us a couple of laps to get everything going, but about halfway through we had a good car,” said Dobmeier. “Chris Ranten (the leader) was running a blistering pace and I thought I was going to need some yellows to catch him.” However, once Ranten hit lapped traffic, Dobmeier was able to reel him in before making a three wide pass for the lead in traffic to take the point. Once out front, Dobmeier cruised to his second NOSA win of the season. On Saturday, Dobmeier made the nine-hour haul down to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. After getting into some trouble in the heat, the crew worked hard to make repairs for the main event. Dobmeier started 17th on the talent-loaded grid, but worked his way up to come home in the 10th position. This coming Saturday, Dobmeier will be making hisGranite City Speedway debut with the Outlaws. “I’m excited to go to a new track. It seems like we usually have success when we go to a track for the first time. It’ll be neat to see what we can go out and do against those guys,” he said. Mark and his No. 13 Sprint Car will be at Buffalo Wild Wings in Grand Forks on Friday from 11:00am-1:00pm. The Team 13 merchandise trailer with new 2019 gear will also be on hand. The first 97 people in the store will get a free domestic pint of beer or free soda (with any purchase). Buffalo Wild Wings Lunstra Motorsports Dahlstrom Motors Inc.
