Grand Forks, N.D. (July 10, 2024) - It's been a busy but successful stretch of races to kick off the summer for Mark Dobmeier and the crew of the Buffalo Wild Wings / Lunstra Motorsports No. 13, winning two of his last four races and stood on the podium last Sunday night at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, SD. Mark has run five features since June 28th in a stretch that started at Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, SD. Late in the race, Dobmeier had taken the second spot but slid off the top of turn one and had to start at the back of the lead lap.
Luckily for Dobmeier, the leaders had lapped up to fourth meaning Dobmeier restarted sixth. But with just a handful of laps left, Dobmeier ended the race just one spot short of a top five. Two nights later he joined the rest of the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association and Midwest Sprint Touring Series at Casino Speedway in Watertown, SD where he headed into the night as the defending winner of the lone 410 trip to the quarter-mile oval. Dobmeier drew the pole for the main event and held off Jade Hastings on a number of restarts to win his fourth feature of the 2024 campaign and take the MSTS point lead. With just one off night again between races, Dobmeier and crew prepared for River Cities' Independence Day special on Tuesday July 2nd where Dobmeier again found himself on the pole for the first main event of the night. Dobmeier led early before losing the lead to Brendan Mullen on a lap seven restart. Dobmeier remained close in traffic until the five to go Mark when he scored the final successful slide job of the race to take the lead for good and win his fifth feature of the season. In the make-up feature from May 17th, however, Dobmeier flipped in turn three while lining up for the race. The crew scrambled to make repairs and did make it back to the track. The car wasn't 100% and Mark fought for an eighth place finish. Dobmeier ended this busy stretch Sunday night at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, SD. Dobmeier was third quick in his qualifying group and won his heat putting him in the feature redraw where he drew the outside of the second row. Dobmeier fought with Chase Randall and Kaleb Johnson through the midway point when he moved up to fourth following a spin for leader Kerry Madsen. With six to go, Dobmeier took third from Justin Henderson using the cushion in turn four and continued on to finish third, his first podium of the year at Huset's Dobmeier will return to River Cities this Friday for a final tune-up in preparation for next week's Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings vs. the Interstate Racing Association. Dobmeier will also run at Huset's again on Sunday night. Dobmeier Racing thanks all of its sponsors for their continued support! Buffalo Wild Wings Lunstra Motorsports Dahlstrom Motors Inc.
