GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 27, 2023) - It's safe to say the driver of the Buffalo Wild Wings / Lunstra Motorsports No. 13 is on a roll, as Mark Dobmeier made a pair of appearances in victory lane last weekend, winning his third of the season at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks before going on to win his seventh of the 2023 campaign at Casino Speedway in Watertown, SD. Dobmeier started his night with a second place run in his heat race, then rolled off seventh in the 30-lap Wayne Anderson Cup qualifier. Dobmeier made his first appearance in the top ten on lap ten and continued on in the fifth spot past the midway point. Dobmeier moved into a podium position on a restart with 12 to go, then proceeded to move past Jade Hastings for second on another restart with six left. Following a few more restarts with five to go, Dobmeier capitalized again, taking the lead on the back stretch and eventually driving under the checkers first. “I tell you what, going out there for the feature, I kind of felt like the gambler,” Dobmeier said in victory lane. “You never know what this track is going to do. It changes a lot, so we kind of gambled a little bit. I went for setting up for the end of the race, instead of the beginning of the race. I think just being the veteran having many laps on the track is what got me that race.” Dobmeier and crew headed to Casino Speedway in Watertown, SD on Sunday night, where Dobmeier was the inaugural winner with the series at the track in 2018. Dobmeier, who won his heat race and started fourth in the second 30 lap feature of the weekend, became part of a five-car battle for second through sixth after a lap three caution. Moving into the top five on lap five, then to third on lap ten, Dobmeier went on to follow new leader Brendan Mullen as the new lead duo. A restart with nine to go saw Dobmeier, Hastings, and Mullen wage war for the lead, which saw Dobmeier take the lead on lap 24. The following lap, Dobmeier and Mullen both jumped the cushion and caught the wall in separate places in turn four. Dobmeier was able to continue while Mullen flipped. Dobmeier held off Hastings in the closing laps following the final restart to collect his seventh win of the season. "I got up on Mullen there enough where I could do a slide job on him and get by," Dobmeier said during his second trip to victory lane of the week. “I was trying to do it in three and four on the bottom there, but he was carrying just enough speed where I couldn't quite do it. I was able to do a slide job and then he came back with one and then we're going pretty hard for a couple laps. I'm not sure what happened with him, I’m guessing he got up in the marbles just like I did. But that was a tricky track to drive.” This weekend, Dobmeier heads west with NOSA for another appearance at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, ND for the annual running of the Governor’s Cup. Dobmeier has three wins at the three-eighths mile oval and will enter the weekend just 22 points back of the lead in the series points. On Sunday, the team will head back to Huset's Speedway to try and keep the point lead heading into the final races of the season.
