Dobmeier Collects Sixth Win of 2019 at River Cities

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (September 5, 2019) – Mark Dobmeier raced to victory lane for the fourth time at River Cities Speedway and the sixth overall time this season. In nearly a mirror image of the previous week’s feature, Dobmeier and Bobby Martin battled for the win in the closing stages. 

“It was a good win. Bobby seems to have found some big speed here in the last few weeks and he’s got that bottom groove working like a champ,” said Dobmeier. “I got by him on the initial start but I could hear and see him running the bottom. After he snookered me last week, I was up on the wheel a little more giving it all I had.”

Dobmeier led the final 23 laps en route to the win.

After a second-place finish last week, Dobmeier said his Buffalo Wild Wings team changed quite a bit on the car for Friday.

“We are always trying to tinker, especially at River Cities Speedway. I’ve got enough laps around that track that if we make a change, I get a good feel of how the car reacts. We made a few changes tonight and I’d say we made the right calls.”

Dobmeier headed south on Sunday to Buffalo River Race Park with the NOSA Sprints to try to defend his race win from a year ago. After starting fifth in the feature, Dobmeier quickly jumped into second and was tracking down Jade Hastings for the lead. 

Coming off of turn four, Dobmeier got his right rear off the edge of the banking and made heavy contact with the outside retaining wall and brought out the caution. The Buffalo Wild Wings team went to work in the pit area and got Dobmeier back on the track to rejoin the field, but too much lingering damage forced the Grand Forks driver back to the trailer. 

This weekend, Dobmeier will be racing on Friday night at River Cities Speedway and Saturday night at Cedar Lake Speedway with the IRA Sprints.
