Grand Forks, N.D. (May 16, 2024) - Mark Dobmeier and Austin Pierce combined for a pair of podium finishes in the Buffalo Wild Wings / Lunstra Motorsports No. 13 last weekend at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks and at the MSTS 410 debut at Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, SD. With family commitments on Friday, Dobmeier asked Austin Pierce to fill in for the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car season debut at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. Pierce went out late in qualifying but finished with the third quickest lap.
Following a second-place finish in his heat race, Pierce drew the fifth starting spot in the 25-lap main event. Pierce was running fourth on lap seven when he brought out a caution. By the midway point, however, Pierce was back inside the top ten and back onto a podium spot with ten laps remaining. Pierce finished the race in the third spot. Dobmeier returned to the seat of the No. 13 on Saturday at Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, SD as the MSTS series launched their newly formed 410 division, winning his heat race in his season debut. Dobmeier started sixth in the 20-lap feature but was second following the second trip around the half-mile oval. Dobmeier went on to score the second podium finish of the weekend for the Wild Wings team, scoring a third-place run. The beginning of Dobmeier's track title hopes at Huset's Speedway were washed out on Sunday night as the traditional Mother's Day opener was cancelled following a late afternoon thunderstorm. Dobmeier will make his River Cities and Huset's season debuts Friday and Sunday night respectively. Dobmeier Racing thanks all of its sponsors for their continued support!
